The town of Monroe, named after President James Monroe, is a small community in Fairfield County, Connecticut. The town is bordered by Easton, Newtown, Oxford, Shelton, and Trumbull and is home to almost 20,000 people spread across 26.3 square miles.
Today, the town of Monroe is mostly a bedroom community of Stamford and New York City. Over time, the town managed to maintain its rural feel, having only a few companies headquartered here. With many open spaces and beautiful parks, Monroe is the kind of town that always offers great recreational activities.
