The town of Darien, Connecticut, located on the shores of the Long Island Sound, in Fairfield County, is a rather small community, and one of the wealthiest towns in the US. Darien is home to around 21,000 people spread over 23.4 square miles.
Once the railroad came to town, Darien attracted a large number of wealthy New Yorkers who built summer homes in town, and ended up moving here, while commuting to their jobs.
Today, the town of Darien is a bedroom community that offers wonderful services to residents. It is conveniently located on the Metro North Train line, providing an easy commute into New York City.
